Lucky for us, the storm hit early: strong winds, rain, and plenty of lightning. As a result, the temperature dropped enough to be quite pleasant, the winds died down to nothing much, and two hours later the roads were dry. Thirty-two racers took a chance and toed the line. They were rewarded with a beautiful summer night for racing and dining.
Thanks to Big Grove Solon for putting up with us, and to Burne Sippy for shots from the turn-around.
