I’ve been an avid bike fanatic/racer since 2010 and participate in road, mountain bike, and cyclocross (my favorite) competitions. At 58 now, I came late to the game but it does show that it’s never too late to take up cycling as a sport and have fun.
I’ve participated in four cyclocross national championships (Masters Category) and one road Masters national championships, where I got 5th place medals for the road race and time trial, and 4th place for the criterium.
I’m absolutely committed to seeing more women racing in Masters events, and would be more than happy to mentor and ride with any Masters women who would like to see what it’s all about.
I do Crossfit twice a week for strength, mobility, and flexibility, adding a third session during the winter training months of December-March. Achieved a new PR (Personal Record) this winter of 300 lbs for the deadlift.
I took a bike maintenance and assembly course at Barnett’s Bicycle Institute in Colorado Springs, and would thoroughly recommend it for anyone thinking about building or maintaining bikes.
I currently have 8 bikes, although you can never have too many!
I love the cycling “tribe” and the camaraderie that comes with it. I’m very enthusiastic about CRANDIC racing, and how it will develop in the future.
